Commemorative Book has Arrived

Apr 30: Last Day to Order

Renewal 2014 Commemorative BookA church is not the building, but the community of faith that inhabits it. The Commemorative Book is a snapshot of the community of St. John’s at a historic milestone.

To mark the major renovation in 2014 and to thank those parishioners of St. John’s who contributed to the special renovation fund, we asked you for your stories and images about yourselves and how the church has been a part of your lives. These stories and images were destined for the Commemorative Book, which would become a permanent entry in the history of St. John’s.

You responded wholeheartedly, which was gratifying, but which also meant we had a lot of work to compile everything into the book. Finally, after many many hours the work is complete and the official copies of the Commemorative Book are here. For the next few Sundays, until April 26, the books will be in the foyer for everyone to view. After that, these official copies will be placed in the church archives. Parishioners are also invited to sign their names in the official book.

We are taking orders for those who would like to have a copy of the book. A cerlox bound copy of the book costs $46. Please place orders before the end of April, and include payment with your order. To see the book or to get an order form, please check at the table in the foyer after the 10 a.m. service, see Sylvia McConnell, call the office at 416-225-6611, or send a note to Sylvia at
