A Piece of the Puzzle

Each Piece is Essential to the Whole

Puzzle as metaphor for Philippians 1:6For me it was often a rainy spell at the cottage when the jig saw puzzles came out …

My family had rituals around doing jig-saw puzzles. We had our order of how to sort, how to do the outline and who did the sky. Did your family? Do you remember that odd piece you’d wonder about? Where would it fit? And how it felt when the puzzle was complete, or not complete if the dog had eaten a piece!

In conversations several times this week that image of the odd puzzle piece has come up. Each one of us is known. Each dot on our lives, each line, each scrape, each joy, each sorrow is known by God. And each one of us is significant to complete the picture. We are all needed. The picture is incomplete if one is lost.

Perhaps these words are for you this week: “Don’t be afraid, and don’t let anyone intimidate or silence you. No matter what happens, I’m with you and no one is going to be able to hurt you. You have no idea how many people I have on my side in this city.” (Acts 18.10)

We are not alone. Our lives are of great value. You are a significant piece in God’s Big Puzzle. Keep on being you, learning and growing closer to God.
