Your voice in the year ahead
The vestry meeting is where parishioners – the members of the church – hear about, and have their say on, the business of the church. At the meeting, we will receive reports about the past year’s operations, consider the budget, and make plans for the upcoming fiscal year.
Lunch will be provided and a free will offering will be taken to help cover expenses. We encourage young families to bring their children – there will be a special children’s program including a pizza lunch.
We encourage all people who meet the Diocesan requirements to attend. Essentially, the meeting is open to anyone who has been a member of the Anglican Church of Canada and of the St. John’s congregation for at least three months, regularly attends services, is at least 16 year old, and is not participating in any other vestry. (The specific requirements are listed in Canon 14 of the Diocese of The Anglican Church of Toronto.)
Vestry Reports will be available on Sunday, September 13th, or you can pick up a copy from the office during the week or view it online. We will also send a copy to everyone on our e-mail list.
A Sign-In Sheet has been posted in the foyer. If you plan to attend and vote at vestry, please sign in beforehand so we can order the right amount of lunch.
