Handbells and Handchimes

Music is a big part of life at St. John’s. Our handbell and handchime groups are now underway for the fall with over thirty participants.

The Handbell and Handchime Choirs at St. John’s

The Chime Choir has eight young people from grades 3 to 5. New chimers are still welcome! It’s a great place for children who want to start learning how to make music.

The Rockin’ Ringers have thirteen players from grades 6 to 9. They performed last month for the congregation on Vestry Sunday. We welcome older children, both those who have a musical background and those who want to learn.

The Brass Ringers have eight ringers this fall. Made up of teens and young adults, The Brass Ringers played on Harvest Sunday on the Thanksgiving weekend.

The long standing Ingram Choir has thirteen members. Our members are adults who have experience with handbells. This year, the Ingram Choir will be honoured to play at our Remembrance Day service.

Fall Concerts

Fall and Christmas are lively times for the handbell and handchime musicians.

Please put Sunday, December 6th at 3 p.m. on your calendar and join us for Sing and Ring when all of our musicians – bell-ringers and chimers, the band, and the choir –  join together for a fun family concert. This tradition is an annual highlight in the music calendar at St. John’s. There will be a free will offering this year in benefit of our Sandy Bay Primary School project in Jamaica.
