Every Sunday at 9 a.m. we gather at the Sacred Table to partake in the Holy Communion. Come and be nourished by the gifts of God.
At the Centre of Christian Life
Communion at the Lord’s table is so central to the Christian life, so meaningful and humbling and beloved, what needs to be said about a worship service built around it? Just this: what is nourishing and a joy to experienced Christians can seem peculiar, even alienating to those who are new to the faith.
The Sacred Table at 9:00 a.m. is where we make space for the profound life experience that is Holy Eucharist. Drawing on our Anglican heritage, you will find a simple reverence, traditional music, a brief reflection, creed, confession and prayers. All with a focus on inward digestion of what our walk of faith has brought us this week.
All are welcome at The Sacred Table: individuals and families, who are at various stages of understanding and of sharing this sacred meal together.
An Intentional Change
The Sacred Table is a part of the transformation that is happening to Sunday mornings at St. John’s. It is designed to help St. John’s better fulfil its vision of “Knowing Christ and Making Him Known” as we enter into our third century of service.
