Have you ever wondered where the beautiful flowers come from, that you see at St. John’s on Sundays? They are paid for by parishioners who dedicate flowers to commemorate a special occasion such as an anniversary, a baptism, a birthday, a graduation, or in memory of departed loved ones.
The flowers on the altar and in the chapel are purchased and arranged by the Flower Guild, an important part of the St. John’s Chancel Guild. Except in the seasons of Advent and Lent, the church will be decorated each week with flowers at the sides of both altars by a group of willing volunteers who take it in turns to purchase and arrange the flowers.
If you would like to dedicate flowers for a special occasion or memorial, please send a note to Barbara Lister or contact the church office at 416-225-6611. The cost to dedicate flowers is $65. Your memorial or special occasion will be featured in the Sunday bulletin and mentioned in the Prayers for the People.
