About SJYM

St John’s York Mills (SJYM) is a vibrant and growing Anglican parish currently celebrating its 200th anniversary. We see ourselves as a teaching/learning faith community and are guided by a vision “to know Christ and make him known.” We are located near Yonge Street and Highway 401 in an historic, urban setting with a large physical facility and dedicated spaces for children and youth.

Our Children’s Ministry includes 35 families with an average Sunday attendance of 30 and a roster of 8 parent and teen leaders.

About the Position

As Children’s Ministry Summer Coordinator you will be an integral part of SJYM’s Ministry Team, supported by clergy and providing cohesive leadership to our children’s program during the summer months. Our regular program finishes on June 19 and resumes on Sept 11. During the summer, as our attendance varies we offer a one room school house ministry at our 10:30 service, caring for upwards of ten children each week.

Your weekly involvement would be Sunday morning nine to noon as you worship with us at 9:00, and oversee the summer children’s program and the organization of the volunteer team at 10:30. You would enjoy flexible hours during the week with the additional work of preparing the Children’s Ministry administration  and space for the fall program.

This is an opportunity to be part of a creative, fun and growing spiritual community. It could be a summer job or it could grow into a long term contract position.

The Next Step

If you can see yourself in this role, please send your resume to Rev. Anne Crosthwait at As this role interacts with children, a background check will be required for the successful candidate.
