Gentlemen, please join us for an evening of dinner, discussion and fellowship. This month we look at Islam, Christianity, and the story of one man’s crisis of faith.
The book Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus by Nabeel Qureshi is the very readable story of how the author struggled with, and finally resolved, deep questions of faith. The book has three major themes: first, Nabeel describes what it was like to grow up in a devoutly Muslim family in America. Second, he tells how, as an adult, his desire to deepen his understanding of his faith led him on a journey through a crisis to an eventual resolution that affected not just his beliefs but his personal identity. Finally, he relates how his acceptance of Christian doctrines caused a second crisis in his relationship with his family.
For October 11, plan on a hearty dinner, great discussion, and some solid food for thought. It is recommended that you read the book beforehand, but if you haven’t, you’ll still get a lot of out of the evening. If you don’t have a copy of the book, they will be available this evening for $20.
If you plan to attend, please send a note to Max at firstname.lastname@example.org to help us plan the meal.
