On Thursday, October 13, the women of the Lychgate Group gather. This month, it’s all about the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides program.
When you think of dog guides, perhaps you think of seeing-eye dogs. In reality, while dogs continue to help people who have vision impairment, nowadays dog guides take on a variety of roles to help those living with disabilities, from guiding people in their daily lives to getting help when it’s most needed.
The Lions Foundation is a charitable organization that trains dogs to be guides and then places them at with eligible Canadians at no cost to the recipients. On October 13, hear the story of the Lions Foundation, how it has developed some amazing programs for training dog guides, and the effects these dogs have had on people’s lives.
