Apr 20: The Story of the Quakers

Spirit Cinema presents Quakers: That of God in Everyone. See stories of the Society of Friends (Quakers) and the outsized role it has played in shaping our modern society.

Stories of the people of the Society of Friends

0420 Spirit CinemaLed by what they refer to as their “inner light”, members of the Society of Friends (Quakers) have played pivotal roles in some of the transformative events of the past four centuries, including the abolition of slavery, reconstruction after the Civil War, World War II, and the civil rights movement. Quakers have resolutely followed conscience even when faced with fierce opposition.

Susan B. Anthony, William Penn, Daniel Boone and John Hopkins are better-known members of the Quakers, however, other lesser known members have also left their mark on the values of our society. This film tells the stories of a few of these people whose lives were defined by seeing that of God in everyone.
