Gentlemen, if you hunger for intellectual stimulation and spiritual growth along with good food and fellowship, the Men’s Supper Club is for you. On the second Tuesday of every month, we will gather to tackle a full plate and a significant piece of Christian writing.
Leaping the roadblocks to faith
On Tuesday, September 12, join us for our first meeting of the season. This season we begin with a look at Lee Strobel’s book The Case for Faith. In his earlier book, The Case for Christ, Strobel set out to apply his journalistic skills to disprove the story of Jesus, and ended up being convinced by historical evidence that Jesus was indeed the unique Son of God.
In The Case for Faith, Strobel looks at objections that prevent people from having faith in the Christian teachings – for example: If God is so loving, why does He allow so much suffering? How can we square modern scientific discoveries with biblical narratives? Strobel applies his investigative rigor to address these and other questions.
The Men’s Supper Club: you’re invited
We look forward to seeing you at the first meeting of the season. It is recommended (but not required!) that you read the first two chapters of the book before the meeting. Copies of The Case for Faith are available from the church office for purchase. If you do plan to come, it will be appreciated if you could let us know by contacting the church office so that we can better plan the meal.
