Yonge Lawrence Fellowship is offering a five-session parenting course inspired by Barbara Coloroso’s best-selling book, Kids Are Worth It. The course includes presentations, discussions, and workshop exercises.
Raising children is one of the most challenging things that people can do, yet many parents feel unprepared. Changing rules and values in our society – from social media to attitudes on bullying – only add to the challenge. In the Parenting Course, we help you build a foundation for a family life that is both responsible and loving.
Based on the book Kids Are Worth It by Barbara Coloroso, some of the topics we’re covering are:
- The four kinds of parents: Brick wall, Jellyfish, Helicopter, Backbone
- Choice and consequence
- Sibling rivalry
- Discipline vs punishment
- Alternatives to “no”
For more information or to register, please call the St. John’s church office at 416-225-6611 or use the contact form on the YLF website. The course is led by Guy Chevreau. The cost is $35, and all participants receive a copy of Coloroso’s book Kids Are Worth It.
