Come and help us say goodbye to Rev. Anne Crosthwait as she steps down from her role as Associate Priest. Following the Open Door service, join us in the auditorium to share in a lunch, in some conversation, and in recalling the gifts that Anne has offered us in her six years at St. John’s.
Although Anne is leaving her duty as Associate Priest for St. John’s, she is not retiring. She will continue to be involved with Contemplative Fire, and she will still continue to be in and about both St. John’s and St. Leonard’s churches. As Anne puts it:
I’m looking forward to more of the open spaciousness that I experienced during my Sabbath Leave. I don’t feel ready for retirement so I’m calling it “realignment”: time to walk, chat, pray, maybe pick up my pastels again.… Time to listen for the next season to appear!
You can read in more detail Anne’s reflections on her time at St. John’s and on what lies ahead in the current issue of The Link. There are also a few words from Rev. Drew.
As part of our way of saying thanks, we are soliciting members of St. John’s for two mementos that will be presented to Anne:
- A Memory Book – Please send or bring to the church office photos, stories, and reminiscences that you may have that remind you of Anne’s time at St. John’s and how she was a part of your life.
- A Purse – Financial offerings to go toward a purse for Anne are welcome at the church office or in the collection plate (please write “Anne purse” on the envelope). Sorry, we cannot give tax receipts.
Please join us in this opportunity to thank Anne for her leadership over the past six years, and to wish her farewell in the next phase of her life.
