Outreach: Christmas Giving

Sharing the Abundance

Annual Christmas Gift Drive and Giving Tree

Xmas Outreach Web BannerEach year, we help to furnish Christmas abundance for struggling seniors, mothers, children and teens connected to several organizations.

Please help us decorate the Giving Tree in the foyer with your homemade or purchased mittens, hats and scarves, and place (preferably unwrapped) gifts underneath. (If wrapped label with intended category of recipient: mother, teen, infant/toddler, senior.) Suitable gift cards are welcome!

Robertson House shelter (City of Toronto)

Mastermind Toys has come through wonderfully again this year with enough items for most of the children. However, they do not stock items for infants and children under two or anything suitable as a gift for the mothers and older teens.

Flemington Park Ministry

Flemington Park Ministry has requested mitts, hats and scarves plus shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes for seniors. St. John’s also buys gifts for the most dedicated volunteers and for each young member of the Downsview Homework Club.

Help share the abundance this Christmas

1201 Outreach abundanceThe Leslie and Sheppard Canadian Tire store owner provides items at last-sale prices which helps to stretch our budget. Tim Hortons is unable to make a donation this year so we would appreciate financial support for our shopping.

Please consider contributing gift cards or a cheque at the office during the week, or dropping them in the collection plate on Sunday. Please make cheques payable to St. John’s York Mills with “For Christmas Gifts” in the memo line.
