Apr 29: Contemplative Fire

Our monthly gathering starts at 4 p.m. in the Community Hall at St. Leonard’s Church. This month, Contemplative Fire thinks about going Way Beyond Religion.

In our faith journey, we hope to find a clear way to connect with God through scripture and through understanding the Jesus story. Often we get sidetracked into religious dogmas and to disagreements that divide us. Seeking to go Way Beyond Religion, we look at an approach based on meditation and on a letting-go that helps us stay, not stray, on our journey.

Contemplative Fire gatherings offer experiential encounters with scripture. Expect stillness, spaciousness, and story telling. Expect a sensory-rich experience, often with visual imagery, body prayer, and small-group discussion.

All are welcome – come and see what we’re about. This month, you’re invited to stay after the gathering for a potluck supper – bring something for the shared table!
