May 27: Contemplative Fire

Our monthly gathering starts at 4 p.m. in the Community Hall at St. Leonard’s Church. This month, Contemplative Fire seeks to journey Way Beyond Religion.

In our faith journey, we hope to find a way to connect with God through scripture and through the Jesus story, but often we get sidetracked into religious dogmas and disagreements. At this month’s gathering, we continue what we started last month, to consider an approach based on meditation and on a letting-go that helps us stay, not stray, on our journey.

Contemplative Fire gatherings offer experiential encounters with scripture. Expect stillness, spaciousness, and story telling. There will be words of scripture, poetry, prose, and gentle discussion.

All are welcome – come and see what we’re about. This month, you’re invited to stay after the gathering for a potluck supper – bring something for the shared table!
