July 29: Contemplative Fire

On July 29, Contemplative Fire gathers to celebrate two milestones: our tenth anniversary, and “Spreading the Fire to the Edge” as Anne and Hugh relocate to British Columbia.

Tenth Anniversary. Ten years ago, Contemplative Fire launched in Canada, spreading from its roots in the UK. Drawing on rich monastic traditions, members seek a faith balanced among being, knowing, and doing – a faith that seeks through transformative awareness to understand and act in harmony with Christ’s way of love.

Spreading to the Edge. Anne and Hugh Crosthwait were instrumental in starting and nurturing Contemplative Fire in Toronto. Now, as they prepare to move to a new home in British Columbia, we gather to honour them, celebrate what they have accomplished, and offer hope and blessings for their journeys.

Gathering and Celebrating on July 29. If you are a part of Contemplative Fire or just curious, you are invited to this special occasion of our monthly gathering. The gathering will include Eucharist and will be followed by a potluck supper. Come, celebrate Contemplative Fire Canada, and say farewell to Anne and Hugh!
