Gentlemen, do you hunger for spiritual sustenance as well as a hearty supper? The Men’s Supper Club is for you. Meeting at 6:30 on the second Tuesday of every month, we gather for some socializing, a hearty meal, and thoughtful discussion around topics of Christian faith that are relevant to modern lives.
On Tuesday, October 12, we continue with the book Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life by Richard Rohr. For many of us, the first half of life are clear: get an education, start a career, set up a home, perhaps raise a family. By contrast, the second half of life can be unsettling. Questions loom: What is my purpose in life? I found success; why do I feel unfulfilled? Is this all there is? Richard Rohr wrestles with these questions, so that instead of falling into spiritual despair, we may fall upward into a more fulfilling second half of life.
Now on Video. After dinner, we will be viewing an absolutely incredible 30-minute video excerpt of Father Richard Rohr speaking from Falling Upward at Texas Lutheran University in 2011.
An RSVP is appreciated if you plan to come to the dinner. Please let Wayne Minett or the church office know, to help with meal planning.
