On Sunday September 16, the Children’s Ministry launches with a brand new program, a renovated children’s space, and a Family Breakfast at 9:30 a.m.
Alison Juurinen, who has recently become the Children’s Ministry Director at SJYM, is pleased to offer a new program at SJYM. Alison believes that children are born with an innate spirituality. Our program dedicates itself to revealing that spirituality, by drawing out children’s natural capacity for excitement and joy while teaching them about the good news that Jesus brought.
Each Sunday, the children start by exploring a story from the bible, playing a fun game or making some great art (or both), and finishing with a tiny meal that we call “the snackrament”.
A few professionals and many dedicated volunteers have worked hard this summer to rejuvenate the children’s area in the south wing of the church. Building repairs, fresh paint, new artwork, and renewed enthusiasm have made the children’s area an inviting place.
Thanks to everyone who responded to the call this summer. Your kindness and efforts are most appreciated.
To celebrate the completion of renovations, and to introduce parents to the Children’s Ministry program and leaders, we’re having a Family Breakfast on the morning of Sunday, September 16, starting at 9:30 a.m.
All families with children – already enrolled or just considering – are invited to the Children’s Ministry breakfast. Pancakes, sausages, and fruit will be on offer. Following the meal, we’ll take a little time to introduce the leadership team, to talk about Children’s Ministry and the fall program, and to answer any questions.
Following breakfast, at 10:30 a.m., the children get to participate in the very first Sunday of the new program. Hope to see you there!
