Mar 14: Lychgate Group Gathering

The women of the Lychgate Group gather on Thursday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. for some social time and to hear guest speaker Jane Griffiths tell the story of her mother Yvonne Aziz and her role in British intelligence operations during World War II.

Yvonne Aziz was a well-known member of St. John’s church for many years. During World War II, however, she was a member of a very secretive organization. She was part of the operations created by Winston Churchill to eavesdrop on the Nazi war machine and to protect communications among Britain and the allies.

On March 14, 2019, Jane Griffiths will talk to us about her mother’s rather unusual adventures in a very secretive organization whose work decisively influenced the outcome of the war. We start at 7:30 p.m. with a little socializing before we settle in to hear Jane’s presentation.
