St. John’s offers a wonderful setting for gatherings and meetings of many kinds. The historic church building is situated in a peaceful, natural setting — a place in the midst of Toronto that feels like a retreat from the city.
Your group or organization are welcome to use rooms and facilities at St. John’s; you don’t need to be a member of St. John’s and the costs are reasonable. We can supply chairs and equipment and help you set them up. Contact us and we’ll be happy to discuss options and availability.
Here are our popular spaces:
The auditorium is a large room that can accommodate up to 200 guests standing and seated in chairs, or up to 120 guests seated at tables. At one end of the room is a fully-equipped kitchen for preparing and serving food; at the other end is a wall-mounted screen for video projection. The room can be partitioned into two smaller rooms if desired.
The Garnsworthy Room is a tastefully furnished room suitable for social gatherings, meetings and classes. It can accommodate up to 70 guests standing and seated in chairs, or up to 40 seated at tables. There is a retractable screen for presentations. There is also an spacious adjoining kitchenette equipped for making coffee and preparing food.
The Marsh and Shepard rooms are available for groups that would like a smaller, more intimate setting for get-togethers. Each room can accommodate 20 people standing and socializing or 12 people seated for seminars and study.
The Shepard room comes furnished with meeting-style tables and chairs; the Marsh room, located on the second floor, has comfy couches and chairs. Both rooms are bright and airy and both have adjacent kitchenettes where you can make coffee and warm up food.
The newly-renovated church Sanctuary can be rented for private functions that are compatible with the nature and purpose of this holy space. The Sanctuary can accommodate about 350 people in the pews and about 50 more in overflow seating. We can provide sound and video services for speakers, musicians and pre-recorded material.
