Robertson House helps pregnant women and women with children who are homeless and in need. It has 37 rooms with shared bathrooms and a dining room where everyone eats together. A variety of meals that reflect residents’ cultural backgrounds are cooked each week. Toronto Children’s Services runs a daycare for infants, toddlers and preschoolers and mothers are helped to access helpful programs while in residence, such as counselling, housing readiness, life skills training and job search, and pregnancy support.
The St. John’s FaithWorks and Outreach Committee, through an annual Christmas gift drive and in partnership with a local Canadian Tire, has provided support to Robertson House for many years.
