Sunday School 2017-2018
Our curriculum is based on the GO! program. GO! is designed to foster a richer understanding of Christian teachings by engaging the entire child – the head, hands, and heart – with discussions, with activities and crafts, and by learning how to apply their faith in everyday situations.
The morning starts with the children all together for an opening prayer and song, then the children divide into groups by grade levels. Each group is led by a Sunday school teacher who tailors the lesson to the appropriate level.
The Leadership Team
Kerry Chevreau is the director of the Children’s Ministry. Kerry works with a core team of lead teachers, co-teachers, and volunteers who read stories and lead the children in small groups to share God’s words and do activities. Many of our teachers are themselves “graduates” of the Children’s program and Youth program. The teachers are supplemented by other volunteers who bring special skills in music, arts and crafts, and drama. The Rev. Catherine Keating, a former director of the Children’s Ministry, continues to offer support and guidance.
