And … Faith life is never about just sitting in a pew; it’s about participating in the fullness of life. In physical life we breathe in and out; our souls need to breathe in the same way, receiving and giving back. Here are some of the ways you can give and receive at St John’s:
Intermission — If you like preparing, arranging and serving drinks and snacks, join the sacrament of coffee (Intermission) team on Sunday mornings. Or, be part of a group that provides hospitality at other times.
Cooking – If you like to cook, you can to help provide occasional meals to members of our community who are in difficulties.
Music – If you like music, add joy to our worship by joining the choir, the band or the handbells and handchimes. Click here to find out more about Music at SJYM.
Greeting – If you can share a smile, you can help greet people on a Sunday by welcoming them into our worship.
Barnabas – If you like to help others in a practical way, join the team who serves a monthly breakfast for those who often use food banks. Click here to find out more about the Barnabas Breakfast Group.
Small Groups – If you like to ask questions, study our faith and get to know people more deeply, visit one or more of our Compass Groups.
Helping Others – If you like to make a difference in the world, there are lots of service projects that we sponsor that could use your help. Click here for more information about our projects Beyond SJYM.
Administration – If you’re an organized person, come and help in our office with general office tasks or special projects. Come whenever you have an hour or two; there’s always something that needs to be done.
Tech – If you like technical things, our sound and video crew would welcome your help.
For more information about any of these items, contact the office.
