Meet Tim Taylor, Curate

Meet our new Assistant Curate, The Rev. Tim Taylor. We welcome him on Sunday, July 5, as he begins his new role with St. John’s.

Tim begins his two-year curacy with St. John’s York Mills on July 1, 2015 after several years working in the oil industry. Tim was recently made Deacon at St James Cathedral.

Tim brings a broad range of lay ministry experience to his ordained ministry having served as Warden several times at St. John’s West Toronto (where his wife, Trish, continues in active lay ministry.) They have lived in cities across Canada, from Halifax to Vancouver and have belonged to vibrant congregations in each city. While in Halifax they worshipped with a Brethren community and participated in small groups and Alpha programs as well as two mission trips to Ecuador.

Tim is a graduate of Trinity College, and focused his studies recently in church development and  homiletics. Tim is strongly motivated by the Archbishop of Canterbury’s recent evangelical charge to the Anglican Communion: “as Christians, we have two jobs – worship God and nurture disciples of Jesus Christ”. He hopes that, over the next two years, he can join  the St. John’s York Mills community in doing just that.

Please welcome Tim into our community of faith!
